Case Study #4 - Hallux/Great Toe Joint Bone Infection
Diabetic patient presented to clinic after referral from primary care physician for a post surgical chronic wound that has not resolved. Comprehensive examination conducted with radiological (x-rays) reveal osteomylitis (bone injection present not allowing wound to heal. Patient scheduled and taken to surgery to remove infected bone and/or associated tissue. Upon completing surgery patient placed on wound care plan and resolved to complete closure in 8 weeks.

 12/22/1999 - After surgery to remove infected bone one can see that infection is being resolved and new and healthy tissue can be seen being produced by the patient's body after just 7 days to assist in the wound healing process. |
