Case Study #1 - Diabetic Patient Achilles Tendon Wound
Wound began as a small blister from an incorrectly fitted shoe rubbing on the back of the heel. Wound was in chronic state for over 5 months with Achilles tendon being exposed with degrading and dying tissue. Upon first visit to wound clinic patient evaluated, wound sharp debrided, followed by application of growth factor gel to stimulate tissue growth to preserve tendon and a bi-layered living human skin was applied leading to complete wound closure and the patient returning to normal activities after 12 weeks.
